Thomas Kaira
The people who Fox News interview tend to be insane, stupid, or both. Take your pick.I've seen enough from them that I would be ashamed if I ever found myself sourcing them for information.
Arthmoor
Funny, I feel exactly the same about people CNN and MSNBC choose to interview. All stupid, insane, or both. I feel dirty just thinking about using either one as an information source. This was a side story about gila monsters though. When one wishes to talk about such things, a reptile expert makes sense, yes? The dude was from the Phoenix Herpetological Society.
Thomas Kaira
CNN and MSNBC are no better. Primetime news is filled with nutcases. I hate how badly both sides slant current events towards their political agendas. Just tell me what the hell is going on, and I'll draw my own conclusions. I don't need to have the conclusions made for me, especially when it's people like Rush Limbaugh or Bill Maher doing the talking.
Arthmoor
Heh. Well the only problem with that is that when I hear Bill Maher talking, all I hear are lies and distortions. When I listen to Rush Limbaugh, it resonates, because pretty much everything he talks about is something I've seen happening for myself. It tends to lend an awful lot of credibility to one side or the other when you're getting information that matches up with what you're seeing going on.I get that there's an irrational hatred of the Tea Party going on, but that's exactly what it is. Irrational hatred. They are NOT what the liberal media keeps telling you they are.
prettyfly
They are trying to scuttle any sort of economic compromise between the Republicans and the Democrats though. Which could potentially mean America defaulting. Which could potentially fuck over the entire world and start a second GFC. Which, y'know, could be bad. Arthmoor
That might be because the Democrats don't actually want a compromise and the Tea Party wing of the Republican party is the only one with the balls to call them out on it. GW Bush learned the hard way that you can't work with liberals. They're not interested in actual bipartisan cooperation. You give them a little, they'll just keep coming back and asking for more and more until suddenly you've given them everything they wanted. If we default, it's only because Obama drove us to that point with the insane spending programs and doubling the national debt since taking office. If you can't pay your bills, FUCKING STOP BORROWING MONEY!Also, yes, Dwip, gila monsters are dicks. You don't ever want to be on the receiving end of a bite. People have been known to lose hands that way.
Dwip
I was kind of trying to make a joke off of prettyfly's "they're going to fuck over the world" thing. You know, global death by gila monster cabal and all that.Which is also to say, kids, we have a very nice blog for this sort of topic. Must we bring it to the mods site?Unless you want to talk about how Chancellor Ocato's inept stewardship has led to economic distress for Cyrodiil. I'm cool with that. Arthmoor
Chancellor Ocato is a power hungry would-be dictator in disguise. Notice how quickly he stepped in, "for the good of the Empire"? He planned it. It was all a vast conspiracy.

Arthmoor
You have no place to talk about freedom if you think the equivalent of the Censorship Doctrine is actually a good thing. You also know nothing about US politics if you seriously think that there's no difference between Democrats and Republicans. Professional analysts have said that Obama is as left wing as they come, and if he had the chance would have turned the US into a Euro style socialist union the day he took office. Our media follows a funny concept called free enterprise. The market decides who lives and who dies. There's oodles of far left news services out there on every major network. Yet everyone throws a huge fit over the fact that Fox News even exists.Free speech as long as you agree with me?
Ysne58
Considering how corrupt and dishonest they all seem to be, it really is hard to tell the difference between a democrat and a republican or an independent or any other party member. Arthmoor
Corruption and dishonesty go hand in hand with being a politician unfortunately. No' date=' political punditry is just illegal in Blighty - you have to report the facts, and just the facts. You also know nothing about US politics if you seriously think that there's no difference between Democrats and Republicans. Professional analysts have said that Obama is as left wing as they come, and if he had the chance would have turned the US into a Euro style socialist union the day he took office.Hey, from a European standpoint you're all Right Wing, Obama's most ambicious plans are not Left Wing in the European definition, except some of his economic policies. Nor is Europe "Socialist" and there aren't any "Socialist Unions", unless you mean th EU, which is an overblown free-trade Bloc, not a government.I'll leave the rest for Dwip's sake, but we should be able to have these sorts of discussions without you getting so aggressive. It's just politics, it's not like it matters who's in power that much, we all live in democracies, well except me - I am a subject of the Queen of England, by her Grace.
