Things have certainly moved beyond what they were years ago, when it was all just a hobby and there was no money directly involved. Unfortunately, for better or worse that situation has change, and it is, as you say, now a business - and it needs to be treated as such by all involved. Once, when we were children, we shared the things we had with our friends, and even people not our friends - just because, and no accounting was needed, or even thought of. But once we become adults, and open a store, we can no longer treat things in the same matter, but must have bookkeeping, accounting, and all the other things that come with running a business, and any information concerning that business needs to be shared with those who directly contribute to allowing the business to maintain its successful position. And one of the important parts of that, is the providing of clear information on how the business is run. Well, this is all somewhat outside the intent of this particular discussion topic, but it is still a very important subject, and one that probably deserves a more in-depth discussion than just a few posts here and there.

The mod is Dune - Project Arrakis - https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/11139 , and the DMCA was filed by Legendary Entertainment, LLC as the producer and copyright holder for the films Dune and Dune 2 (directed by Denis Villeneuve and distributed by Warner Bros). The date of issue was October 22. 2024 (A full list of movies for which Legendary Entertainment is the producer/copyright holder may be found here) This was reported on Nexus under Takedown Requests here: DMCA request issued by Legendary Entertainment As per Nexus TOS, the uploader has 14 days from the above listed date (so by November 5) to file a counter-claim - if no suitable claim is filed in that time, then the mod will stay removed. Might be worth a look.
smr1957 Posted December 20, 2024 Author Posted December 20, 2024 (edited) For those wondering, I have not been able to post for the last month due to issues with my eyesight that caused me to be unable to see clearly enough to do any extended reading or typing, thus preventing me from keeping up my topics and threads, or posting anything else, for that matter. However, there is some good news - today for the first time since the end of November I was able to see the words on the PC screen clearly and it was not just all a hazy blur difficult to make out. Hopefully I will be able to continue to maintain the progress - but I am still being very careful not to put too much strain on my eyes for at least a while longer. On the day my own go, no choice to but to live with it, it's when the depression sets in after having to listen to articles like these through text to speech software. Drops were no help - think it's a combination of strain and "I have no ideaitis" End of last month it started getting blurry and finally got so bad it was like trying to look through a glassine envelope. It would sometimes improve in the morning on awakening, but would then in short order deteriorate again, so I had to give up on trying to read or write, because I couldn't see clearly enough and it was just straining my eyes further. Gradually, it has improved to almost what it was prior to onset, and I am now able to once again see as I should - but I am, needless to say, being very careful not to put strain on my eyes now for a while. And yeah, I tend to get depressed around the holidays as it is, so this didn't help - though probably a good thing I couldn't read anything, as reading the news and the Steam forums just tend to make me even more depressed - LOL! lmstearn 1

Yes, you would be right, except I have several Helpful Links and References threads across several sites and not just for Starfield, but for Skyrim (both Classic and SSE) as well, in which this information gets posted, so to maintain consistency and ease of maintenance for all the threads, I post it the same for all (which means it get posted here for the AFK Helpful Links thread). I would post it as well in the Wrye Bash thread, but I don't wish to spam posts - but others can feel free to post the info there if they wish. Edited January 11 by smr1957
