That jackass just won't quit. He's added another one now! I negative rep'd it. Should I report it too?Personally I don't trust Skyboost at all. Reminds me of Streamline, which I can't run. TESVAL works very well and I have no reason to switch.

Thanks for your support Andalaybay and TK. I already reported it so I'm sure it will get removed.I prefer to trust SKSE and TESVAL myself. I haven't tried scriptdragon or skyboost for the exact same reason you give Andalaybay.I like that avatar TK.

Scriptdragon just reeks of a dodgy app IMO. I will continue to use TESVAL since I trust the SKSE guys not to feed me a broken plugin down the road. If that jackass keeps it up, report him, he'll get banned, that'll be the end of it.

I'm loathe to say it but I'd wager the reason for the hostility toward SKSE is because they refuse to support pirated copies of Skyrim.

Just wait for the Creation Kit to come out. SKSE is going to send ScriptDragon packing when that happens, since it will allow us to do the same things ScriptDragon can do, but using the game's native scripting language instead. MUCH more convenient. And that's before factoring in the compatibility problems that stem from being a dinput8 mod. SKSE doesn't have that problem, which frees up the dinput8 mod slot for something other than a mod that another mod makes redundant.

You hit that nail right on the head.

Yeah, I've ignored ScriptDragon from day one as elitist bullshit. Most modders don't even know Basic, let alone C++, and having a tool that required that was crap. The thing that annoys me right now is that people aren't getting the fact that SKSE will simply introduce new functions right into the CK. Just another annoyance with the entire Skyrim forum right now.I did get a chuckle out of one of Greenie's posts though. The poor mods must just be going "when is this going to end?".

IS THE CK OUT YET? Scriptdragon offers an interesting tool, sure, but SKSE has plugins which behave the same way and the plugin system in **SE is regulated so that authors are not stepping all over each others opcodes. Once the CK is out, everything changes, and the true potential of SKSE will be realized. Also, goddamnit, why isn't my Oblivion gate working?

Well, I'll be looking forward to the day when the CK comes out and SKSE starts doing what it was meant to do. Once we are there, no more having to write out game scripts in C++, no more dealing with dodgy apps written by someone unwilling to share the source code (which is usually a common courtesy for free apps, you are giving it away, so you might as well show your work).

I do believe Greenie was thrilled to see a Skyrim forum that didn't even mention the CK, let alone wondering when it was going to be out. :lmao:Your Oblivion gate?TK - they don't dare share it because it's written so badly!

(feels slightly awkward breaking up the flow of the thread that isn't dealing with plain random stuff at the moment)Because Skyrim's writing was beginning to sap the enjoyment from the game for me, I decided to have another play through of New Vegas, and in addition do the DLC's which I hadn't tried before.. And because they're best done in order, I started with Dead Money. And it didn't fail to impress. The entire design of the place, both in level layout and gameplay concepts is brilliant. The place is designed to challenge you and stress you out as quite a bit, but if you stick it out and take your time exploring and making sure you do everything there's some huge rewards on the table (but it doesn't come from what is in the vault). The enemies are intimidating and challenging (partly because you can't kill half of them and the other half take extra effort to ensure they stay dead) and the various new weapons are cool too. Which is important, because it adds a hell of a lot of spice and excitement to what would otherwise be not a whole lot more than some fetch quests. Instead, you're left feeling like you're delving into a dangerous labyrinths, uncovering lost secrets and battling for survival against the odds, even though you're actually just following some 'go here, do that, come back here, go there' quests. And yeah, the story. This is Obsidian's specialty, and its top notch as usual. The characters are great, as is the dialogue, which have go to be some of the deepest and largest dialogue sets I've seen so far (although they do tend to skip out on 'goodbye' options, forcing you to take longer routes to exit conversation, which is a pain, but there is a LOT of stuff to find if you go through all the dialogue). The background to the casino and the villa is also well told through notes and terminals as well as by the NPC's, although there are some gaps left to be filled by other DLC's (namely Old World Blues). The key theme of the whole DLC is 'letting go', and trust me, they make you understand what its like to let go when you break into the vault. And yeah, all over the whole things great. End ramble.

Speaking of DLC's, I can't wait to be the first to play Skyrim's DLC, if the rumors of it coming out on Xbox first is still true. :)And I wish it would come soon, having hit the boredom threshold at lvl 35.

Yeah, me too! I don't recall getting bored with Oblivion until I had played the game several times. I think it's the unending quests. You don't feel like you're getting anywhere. I know Beth added them so you could keep playing, but they're all the same.I haven't even finished a quest line yet. I shouldn't be bored this early.

Unless you live in a cave, you probably noticed that there is a large-scale protest occurring across several major websites (Wikipedia and Google for example) against the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) And the Protect IP Act (PIPA) as they would enforce stopping online piracy by effectively censoring the Internet. Not only from a standpoint of Civil Rights (allegations have been made that the bills infringe on US 1st Amendment rights) but also from business, these bills would be highly detrimental to the future of the web, and many sites are encouraging you to speak up and let Congress know you do not want these bills to be passed. I agree with them.Google has set up a petition here. You can read an abridged version of how harmful these bills could be to legitimate websites here.

This whole SOPA thing is deserving of it's own thread, perhaps a blog entry, but for the moment let's just suffice it to say that all the hype and protest against it is ill informed nonsense just like the Occupy crap.Oh, and it would appear Nexus doesn't appreciate opposing opinions on the issue of SOPA. I know I posted several where I explained how the reaction doesn't match the reality of the bill, and those posts have mysteriously vanished now. Rather ironic given the fact that the outcry against it is over supposed censorship issues.

The reality is the White House has already stated opposition to the bill so even if it gets past (again, unlikely due to the 1st Amendment violation allegations), it still as a very healthy chance to get vetoed.I'm not that concerned, but it is messing with Jeff Bridges' thing about free and open information, man.

The White House did so out of political expediency. It's an election year, and Obama is trying to make himself look like a champion of the internet.Besides, as I understand it, Congress tabled the bill today. So all the doomsayers can rest easy.

So, I've just used some of the Christmas cash I was sent to upgrade my copy of New Vegas to the Ultimate edition (means I'm purchasing all the DLC for the game).Steam crashed during purchase confirmation, but I've checked the records and Steam has recorded that I own the items (and is also downloading them now), so no harm done. That's six packages at a $46.00 value: - Courier's Stash (pre-order bonus content) - Gun Runners Arsenal (weapon pack) - Dead Money DLC - Honest Hearts DLC - Old World Blues DLC - Lonesome Road DLCThat's everything that will be in the F:NV Ultimate edition that has recently been announced.
