It's the usual cycle with him. If the pattern holds, it'll be a couple more months before he declares all of the internet except him to be trolls and shuts his site down entirely. If you thought it an insult, then I apologize. I was invited to a steam group and heard your name come up, so I thought I'd take the time to tell my story. I guess you could say that I was one of Giskard's Lieutenants. Hell maybe even his top one. I was younger at the time and probably a little arrogant. Regardless I was friends with him. Literally one day as if he was on some sort of drug withdrawal he lashed out at me. Banned me from the site, and even sent me nasty messages on Facebook (Yes, I was [i]that[/i] close to him). I wasn't some serial troublemaker, I was the only other active staff member on the site at the time. I even ran the site for him after he ran into some family problems. I trusted him, and he did all this while I was away for school hundreds of miles from home. He did not even give me the time of day to explain anything. He claimed that he banned me for "wasting his time" as I had seem him do in the past to others. I did not agree with any of these, he banned three of his long time voice actors including the one who actually ran his "voice actors guild" because they "wasted his time." When he banned the leader of it, hell yeah I objected. I didn't get where I was there by ass-kissing contrary to popular belief, he was actually the first person to tell people that. Before I was banned, yeah I'll admit, I was rubbing the wrong way on him. He wanted to close the forum because he claimed it attracted "time wasters." He expected anyone who replied to any of his posts to read his long and horrifically unedited blog posts. I swear that they are at a primary school writing level and if someone didn't know one of the points, he banned them. I was however popular with the other users, but so was the anit-timewaster witch hunt. He claimed that he banned me for being another one, But that's not what he [i]really did.[/i] Stupid Giskard claimed he banned me for a quotation that I had in my signature by Joey Gilbert (the boxer) stating "It’s ludicrous, … I’m not going to dignify his rude, disrespectful comments with a response. I’m not going to say anything bad about him. He’s a great guy. He’s just misguided and misinformed." That quote had been there for several [b]years[/b]. It's just my general demeanor; I think there's even a post in here where one of you point out my basic humanity for others. His holiness did not believe that to be however. That's not why I was banned. He just straight up lied to everybody there. I hate liars. On top of that, for a week? Did he honestly expect I was going to come back? That's just cheap. That's really about it for my ramble, since that Facebook conversation I haven't made any contact with him again. To no surprise the prideful man closed his forum... just to reopen them again... looks like I was right again! I'll end with some amusement. Did you know that he wouldn't let his forum link to this site? He actually installed analytics software on TEG to check to see if traffic was going here and back. His suspicions were that you would thing he was watching you, which he was... and that you guys had secret identities on TEG... which I wouldn't be suprised if you did. But the witch hunt was insanity! I also apologize to you personally Arthmoor if in the past I said anything hurtful to you. I'm a little older now and must admit my experiences with Giskard over the years left me with some more maturity. It's 2AM here, I apologize for typos/grammar and long live his excellency. Unless you're talking about the European scale, in which case calling it "right wing" fits for them. So no, I didn't take it as an insult because calling me one makes little sense as I am decidedly right-wing by American standards :P It hasn't been all that long since the meltdown you're referring to in your post. Most of us observed from a distance and thought the whole affair was quite sad. I honestly don't get how he can be that cruel to his own site members. It just doesn't compute. But the witch hunt was insanity![/quote] Not really surprised I guess. Pretty much everyone runs Analytics anyway, but I don't doubt he was using them for surveillance purposes. Even if anyone did/does have secret accounts on TEG, it would make little sense to monitor referrals from here. He's paranoid, to put it bluntly. As long as he's being paranoid way over there, so be it. Don't worry about it, I don't think you ever said anything directly that I'd consider insulting or hurtful. I reckoned Giskard reserved all that for himself because I don't recall any of the other members or staff ever getting that involved in all of this. [/quote] If you had a differing stance, be it on firearms, modding, or even the use of a script extender you had a decent chance of getting blocked on Steam and banned from the forum. It's sad.
