Large external HD ftw.[/quote']That method of backup has caused my problem, restoring said backup would leave me with the same messy data folder as before, where I litterally have no idea where to start looking for problems. This way at least once I get this working I will know it is complete and perfect.

I see. Yes, that's one drawback. If something goes terribly wrong and your backup is too old to be of value. Damn you, now I'm going to spend the next hour or two making a new one

Well, yes, if you're going to do regular backups, they need to be very regular to be of value, and there's probably not really a lot of point to keeping the older backups once you've made a fresh one.
