Okay, so this is something else I didn't think about with this mod.  So even though you wipe out the DB early you find a way to get this armor?  What about the horse?

No armor here, brother.  Just the note, a paltry sum of gold and a crappy Dwarven Dagger.  You can't loot the armor.  This is the event that is supposed to trigger the start of the quest Destroy the Brotherhood.  However, the quest did not trigger.  So, Talyn is revisiting the mod... all part of beta testing.  I'm trying to break the mod through testing, Talyn is making the necessary repairs to make the mod work every time...  Just part of the process.

I have not yet run Destroy the Brotherhood until just now testing this mod.  However, I do believe that there is opportunity to obtain Brotherhood armor and possibly the blade of woe.  IDK for sure tho.  What I do know, is that Talyn's mod intends to allow the hero type character to destroy the DB without killing Grelod or even speaking to Aventus or Astrid prior to reporting to Commander Maro to report the DB.  So, I'm not exactly sure how that is all supposed to work.  I'm just testing it to see if it does work.  One suggestion that I made was that Grelod dying in conjunction with DB quest triggers are what allows the player to adopt from Honorhall Orphanage a short time after Grelod's demise.  So, he's working to include that as well.  Talyn's making room for Grelod in a basement cell in Mistveil Keep.

I don't think that Shadowmere will be a part of the bargain though.  But, you could always ask him.   However, the name of the mod is Destroy the Dark Brotherhood for Heroes.  TBH, Shadowmere isn't exactly a hero's mount.  Again, this is my first time playing this quest.  I usually join the DB.  Even in my Imperial play I was the Listener before taking on the Stormclucks  So, running this side is all new.  Yet, I'm fairly certain the player can obtain at least one set of the good armor and possibly get blade of woe.  I just don't know for sure yet.

See I didn't even think about the ophanage and adoption.  Boy making a mod takes a lot to consider.

But you're right about the horse, and even the ancient armor.  I do assume you can loot the bodies of the DB in the hideout when you destroy it.  I think he said he was going to include Astrid there also and she'll be carrying the knife.
