Falkreath 1.0.7

4 Screenshots

About This File

A minor expansion for the city of Falkreath. Provides additional housing for 2 NPCs.

Like so many other towns in Skyrim, NPCs have been doubled up in housing or simply not given any at all and occupy space at the inn forever. Falkreath is already fairly large and space is limited, but there was enough available to provide homes for Kust and Valdr in a part of the city that wasn't occupied by anything other than trees.

Requires the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch to be installed first!

What's New in Version 1.0.7

Released

The .esp and .bsa files have been changed to lowercase filenames. This is to help facilitate universal filename compatibility for Steam Deck and regular linux users whose file systems are case sensitive. Many of them make use of the in-game menu to download mods and Bethesda.net ALWAYS downloads in lowercase. For the benefit of people using linux or the Steam Deck, it would be greatly appreciated if any mods which currently use this mod as a file dependency change the case of that dependency in their master lists. (Bug #34096)

Not sure if this is the cause or if there is another mod causing me issues but Lod is not leaving his house and the Jarl is not giving me the option to buy property after his quest.

The only mods I have active that affect these things is yours, Draco Lakeview and Populated Skyrim.  I turned them all off and I still have the issue though.  Any other thoughts?

There's a new Creation Club creation that spawns a dead NPC and his coffin under Kust's house. It's the Alternative Armor Daedric Mail.  You can still complete the quest, but it seems like something that I think you would want to fix, if I know you like I think I know you.

It's not the Alternative Armors Daedric Mail but the Alternative Armors Daedric Plate.

Hey, Arthmoor, just downloaded the mod expecting it to be the newly updated 1.0.6 version, but it turns out it's still the 1.0.5 version. Modified date for each of the three files contained in the 7zip archive is 21 September 2022.

Try now. Again not sure why the wrong copy was up, but I've rebuilt this archive too.

All good now.

Can your town mods safely be converted to ESL?

Most of them can, but it's highly advised not to do so. An engine bug involving new cells in an esl flagged plugin (esm, esp or esl) results in said new cells not being able to be overwritten by any patch plugins.

I wouldn't recommend it. These mods have been out in the wild for some time now before compacting for ESL flagging was an expected thing. So you'd be risking compatibility issues at best, and at worst, corrupting your save if you do this.

@Arthmoor Valdr is attacking the animals at Falkreath and having fights with the guards, is there a fix for that?

There's already code in place in the mod to take care of that specific issue. You're probably on an outdated copy.

I'm using the latest version of the mod and Skyrim AE with the latest update and on a new game, as soon as i finished his quest and he moved to Falkreath the guy is going bananas on the poor farm animals, it is also worth mentioning that i use no other mods that alter npc behavior or Falkreath other than the creation club stuff that takes place in the town

I don't see how that's even possible then because the script call that deals with his faction memberships can't be bypassed except through a mod that messes with the same material.

With this mod installed, Valdr's dialogue: Come find me if you're ever in Falkreath. You'll always be welcome at my door." now makes sense :) This mod should've been part of the base game, IMO.
