About This File

"A Small Farmstead in the Western Plains. Grain, Leather, Horses." - Holdings of Jarl Gjalund.

Rorikstead is a farming village on the northwest end of Whiterun Hold. It has a rich history with a mention in an ancient book accounting for the property once owned by Jarl Gjaland, and a ballad is sung about the death of Ragnar the Red taking place there. Yet when you see the place in person it's a sad shadow of all of that history.

This mod aims to bring at least some of that back by expanding the village with more NPCs, houses to put them in, and additional farming for them to do. The town also now has a blacksmith to fulfill the complete picture.

* Extra guard patrols and guard dogs added to help fend off wildlife and other threats.
* Two of the new NPCs can be married if you help them with their crops and you can live in their houses with them if you so choose.
* Lokir's abandoned house is included and can be claimed as a new home if you wish.
* All added houses are radiant quest enabled, so you may get Companions missions and anything else that's properly configured to use NPC homes for quests.
* Blacksmith allows investing in his shop with the appropriate Speech perk.
* LOD has been generated for the area.

Requires the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch to be installed first!

What's New in Version 1.0.12

Released

The .esp and .bsa files have been changed to lowercase filenames. This is to help facilitate universal filename compatibility for Steam Deck and regular linux users whose file systems are case sensitive. Many of them make use of the in-game menu to download mods and Bethesda.net ALWAYS downloads in lowercase. For the benefit of people using linux or the Steam Deck, it would be greatly appreciated if any mods which currently use PCS as a file dependency change the case of that dependency in their master lists. does it work with AE ?

I have it installed and the mod appears to be working just fine with Skyrim SE V1.6 (which is the Anniversary Edition).

The four exterior guard dogs attack my character and party members when we draw near. I've Calmed them, Healed them and even cured myself of Lycanthropy in case that was it, but no. They still attack me once Calm wears off. Killing all four dogs obviously solves the problem, but is there anything I can do or adjust in console to spare the lives of these poor enraged canines?

EDIT: I'm running Rorikstead version 1.0.8 on Skyrim SE version 1.5.97.0. Trying to update to Rorikstead 1.0.10 indicated a Missing Master .esl file for Survival Mode, so I reverted to the older version of your mod. I play with Frostfall, and I'm concerned Survival Mode will conflict.

1.0.8 is no longer supported. It's use as is. Arthmoor will only provide support for the latest version of the mod, which at the time of posting is 1.0.10.

This is a great mod, love the much needed added content. However, how does one acquire the house?

"* Lokir's abandoned house is included and can be claimed as a new home if you wish."

TIA
