Darkwater Crossing 2.0.9

4 Screenshots

About This File

A simple village expansion for Darkwater Crossing.

If Darkwater Crossing ever seemed like too many people with nowhere to live were there, you're probably right. It's major enough for Tullius to know about it to set up an ambush for Ulfric, yet there's a single house there where two people live while everyone else sits around a campfire. Not anymore! Three new houses have been added to provide accommodations for the 4 NPCs who had no place to call home.

* Sondas Drenim will offer to share his house if married to you.
* Derkeethus will offer to share his house if married to you, assuming you haven't recruited him into the Blades.
* All added houses are radiant quest enabled, so you may get Companions missions and anything else that's properly configured to use NPC homes for quests.
* LOD has been generated for the area, including trees that account for the changes.

Requires the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch to be installed first!

What's New in Version 2.0.9

Released

The .esp and .bsa files have been changed to lowercase filenames. This is to help facilitate universal filename compatibility for Steam Deck and regular linux users whose file systems are case sensitive. Many of them make use of the in-game menu to download mods and Bethesda.net ALWAYS downloads in lowercase. For the benefit of people using linux or the Steam Deck, it would be greatly appreciated if any mods which currently use this mod as a file dependency change the case of that dependency in their master lists. (Bug #34096)

Still the best Darkwater Crossing ever made. I love u for this Arthmoor! I was so scared when I couldnt find it on the Nexus, well, for a second anyways. lol. I wonder why no one else has tried doing what you've done with Darkwater. Is it that much of a pain in the booty doing these village expansions?

  • "Some NPCs in Darkwater Crossing mention an elf farmer named Meieran, but he does not exist in the game. Another nonexistent person mentioned is Dasturn, whom Tormir describes as "telling tales again".
  • Unused game data suggests that there was going to be another building in Darkwater Crossing, called the "Crossinghouse". Judging by the faction members and the location keyword, it may have been the house of Tormir and Hrefna." This shit is super interesting and I like how you kind of did your own unique thing but still like expanded on what was...potentially cut from the game? Once again Banger Mod!

There's no need for a patch. Load the landscape mod above Darkwater Crossing.

I don't know what that's supposed to be, but it didn't come from here.

Vortex only support downloads from Nexus, so you're not even downloading the right thing.

Was curious about this, so I decided to try installing Darkwater Crossing into the Vortex mod manager, and it does in deed get renamed to what Arling is seeing. Vortex is pulling the data for that Aguas mod via the Nexus API and applying it to the newly installed Darkwater Crossing. Got no idea why it's doing that, it just is.

@Arling: The mod files are what they should be once installed, you just need to manually alter the mod name, author, etc. So it's listed as what it should be.

Oh, right. Typical Vortex, imposing themselves where it's not wanted.

Hi, i have the same Problem.

I downloaded the archive and thew it into vortex and this weird thing is happening (took me some moments to realize what is going on :) ). It directs me to a page in Nexus, which of course isn't marked as downloaded. Is this a bug in Vortex ? The archive looks pretty normal to me ..

Do you have an idea ?

Thx and happy modding

I changed the compression Format to Zip and Rar , that works how it is intended. Why the 7z is doing weird stuff, i don't know, but it is not the first time with Nexus/Vortex that this archive type makes some trouble.

Cheers

It's a Vortex issue. We can't control the whims of what they're doing with files that aren't hosted on Nexus. Vortex should not be making assumptions about where to get data on a mod since loads of mods come from other sites.

That would seem to be a troubling and disturbing thing being imposed by Vortex, to say the least.:profanityrabbit:

If you're also getting the "Aguas Negras Prueba" bug in Vortex all you have to do is:

1. Use WinRAR. Right-click Darkwater Crossing > Extract to "Darkwater Crossing\"

2. Drag and drop the Darkwater Crossing folder inside Vortex's Downloads tab.

3. Install.

Oh, yeah. That was just discussed above. Vortex is coded to assume everything you download comes from Nexus, so it digs up an ID number that matches from whatever mod it thinks is appropriate on Nexus. Several people I know have reported the issue to them because it affects anything downloaded from any of the numerous sites that are not Nexus, but they apparently don't care and won't do anything about it.

This is a nice expansion to the town, do you not think the minors would appreciate a tavern there too if one could be fitted in? It would be a good place to rest at too as as Riften and Windhelm are a bit of a distance to travel to at night especially with an enb that darkens the nights and being able to stop off there would be very handy. In the past I would set up my tent with the others to sleep there.
