About This File

This mod is a simple yet immersive and lore friendly way for the official DLC in Oblivion to be started. Normally when creating your character and exiting the prison cell, you are accosted by a number of highly unrealistic quest prompts that bombard you with information about things you should know nothing about and may not even want for the particular character you are playing. Instead, now you will either be able to find out about these quests via notes or in some cases simply by discovering the locations on your own.

What's New in Version 1.0.4

Released

Vile Lair: If the mod was installed after the notices were given to the player, the script that detects when you're near the map marker for Deepscorn Hollow had too large a distance on it. This is the same issue which has been addressed in the Unofficial Oblivion DLC Patches on Bug #32829.

Small but great mod which really improves immersion, thank you!

Considering KotN starts with the deaths of multiple NPCs, even if unimportant ones, might I recommend an option for starting that quest that the player has a bit more control of?

I've looked high, low, and even resorted to running around with noclip on. Could I get a hint as to where the chest with Frostcrag Tower's key and deed is?

...It wouldn't have been overwritten by something in your Frostcrag Village mod, would it?

Go up all the stairs until you're facing the door. Turn right, follow the balcony around to the end. The chest should be right there on the balcony.

It is not overridden by the village mod.

Yeah, I'd assumed not. So either I managed to mess something up or one of my other mods is inexplicably messing with the tower's exterior. I have one touching up the inside a bit but even with that one disabled it isn't showing up. Vortex didn't show any conflicts. Well, time to strap myself in and figure things out.

Regardless, I appreciate the fast response.

Hi Arthmoor,

Thank you for the great mod! It really stars new game properly.

Is there any way to increase the Fame requirement for KotN? A higher number would really improve my playthrough.
I'm not really a modder and don't understand TESEdit or Construction Set that much, don't know if it could be done.

Just a minor tweak for more immersion, if it's not possible or doable, I'll still use the mod, it works fine as it is.
