It's gone but I'd really like to give it back to Jon.I tried finding it with a console command prid 00027F73 and moveto player but without success. The console says "invalid object reference". As far as I know, the letter can be used to bribe Jon, but it's purely optional. It's mostly an "immersion thing", it proves the love between Jon & Olfina from two opposing clans. People compare them as Romeo and Juliet. The only possible answer here is that once you use the letter to bribe Jon it's gone. But if you don't use it for the quest, it stays with Jon forever.
