and don't forget to run the TES4LODGen tool (the last v2x, not the buggy v 3.x) after the _far.nifs are installed or they would have no effect in the game

Well I ran it, and it slows the game a little as expected and the farnear stuff -e.g. Wilderness architecture is visible.

 

I thought there was a good LOD tutorial/ discussion on the CK- but nothing comes up on the search box anymore.

Using uGridDistantCount =20  pretty much everything comes up within 1 - 2 tiles around.

 

Take the view over to Fort Homestead from the IC Waterfront.

Set bDisplayLODBuildings=1, it's not visible, but with bDisplayLODBuildings=0 lol it's there.

 

And there's the haze. Trying to get a clear day in Oblivion with Force Weather running OBGE, EW and whatever else is...

 

Anyone else willing to test?
