scbfromnc Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 Does anyone know what's going on with this? I've got the latest version (4.1.5f), but it doesn't seem to work and when I search for it on Nexus it's hidden. Is there a discussion forum? My google search only turns up old information.
smr1957 Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 (edited) It is being worked on to make it compatible with Starfield. As of now, it is totally unusable for Starfield - except for viewing and even that is extremely limited and of minimal use. You can keep tabs on progress and other doings re: xEdit, however, on their Discord channel Edited July 24, 2024 by smr1957
DayDreamer Posted January 23 Posted January 23 When the CK came out for Skyrim, one of my first questions on the BethSoft forums was where to find a comparison utility. For most professional developers, diff and diff3 (and BBEdit) are essential. (Many *nix developers actually use a Mac, and BBEdit is one of the reasons. I'd first encountered it released with Mt Xinu for the Mac circa 1992-93. Like xEdit here, BBEdit was developed for a variant of Pascal.) They were still decoding Skyrim records at the time. But it was working within a month or so. I'm wondering why SF1Edit is taking so long? Was it because the first couple of SF CK releases couldn't even read all the SF records? Particularly the Story Manager?
lmstearn Posted January 23 Posted January 23 There's been plenty of dev going on to at least before December, sounds like complications with how all these structures are setup, creations and what have you. Could be new types thrown in as well. What do they use to reverse engineer the data files, a paid product, or something like IDA? The CK for Starfield has of course been out since June, perhaps some of that has to be de-compiled for missing info. There's some progress with the CK extender which might reveal a few secrets, - in C++ though.
