About This File

Open Cities Skyrim is a comprehensive project that aims to bring back at least part of the feel of Morrowind - specifically how most of the cities were a natural part of the world and you could just walk in without loading screens. The added immersion and realism goes a long way, probably a lot more than you might think. Ever wanted to ride your horse into the center of Riften? Well now you can. Need to get some help from the city guards to vanquish a foe? Run toward the gates and the guards will do their duty while you can seek safety within the walls. The town guards make for some very interesting interactions this way. This will also make running dragon battles that much more interesting since the flow of the battle won't be interrupted by the loading screen and all of the city guards can be involved at the same time.

Hello, apologies for a dumb question, but this is the correct version for LE/"Oldrim," right? Thank you in advance!

AE is SE with extras and a few bug fixes I believe.

AE is just an optional DLC package.  The game itself is still just SSE but was updated in November and had 4 items added as part of the update - Saints and Seducers, Rare Curios, Fishing, and Survival.  So, the mod version of Open Cities is for the current version of the game - 1.6.353, and it is the only one available

is this mod compatible with immersive citizen AI overhaul? because I got this messages from LOOTimage.png.fa275908d851787eb08655c15559dfc0.png

"A compatibility patch is included with this plugin's installer."

I think you have to:

1) Uninstall Immersive citizens

2) Install Open cities

3) Install Immersive citizens and apply the OC patch found in the mod's installer thingy

Hope this helps anyone with this issue. I almost forgot about this just as I was about to install the mod lol

Hey, is there a version for just SE instead of LE or AE. I'm not trying to be a dick or rude I just can't find it anywhere, and I REALLY love this mod. Hope you're doing good!

There is only the one version for Special Edition, and that is for the current version of the game.  So, if you are on the current version of the game (which the vast majority of people really should be), Open Cities is fully compatible.  And, by the way, the game is all SSE regardless of version number - AE refers to the DLC only. (For the full explanation of that, see here.)

how do you install this on mod organizer?

i made an account just for this and i cant get it to run also fuck nexus

find you skyrim mod orginizer instance in file explorer, go to downloads and copy your mod to that folder. i set up google to ask me where to download any file i download on google, so i dont have to copy, i can just download it straight to my mods. once its in there it should show up in the downloads section of mod orginizer. it should also be a .7z file so mod orginizer can acually extract it itself. im a little late so you probably figured it out yourself, but if anybody else needs to know this comment will always be here.

Yes, the patch archive has one for Bittercup.

I'm glad to see more Nexus alternatives popping up. Those arrogant pricks need to be humbled.

Probably a silly question, but I wonder if this will work with any of the 'Great Cities/Towns' mods on Nexus?

The ones that aren't the walled cities will be fine, but if those have versions of the walled cities, they'll need patches.

There isn't one for LE, because LE is ancient and not supported anymore.

is open cities compatible with Bards College and East Empire Expansion from KingCreations?

we have to purchase them like Bthar and some of your other mods, which i have no problem paying for, but I'm wondering what load order im screwin up, for I have been waiting 72 in game hours for the bards college to expand, but it never does.

I literally dumped my entire game, and have only loaded the base game AE, the creations, your alt life, ussep, bards college, eee, bthar, and a few home mods all from bethesda,

no skse loaded as of yet, no nexus mods as of yet, no vector. all bethesda so far.) Clean install.

Ive also posted this question to KingsCreations as well on their site, hoping someone has an answer, if its simply 'They don't work together', that's fine but disappointing, but I'm hopeful its something more basic.

It needs a patch for BCE and I haven't had time to put one out for it yet.
