Swipnet.se are now preserved by the .SE foundation

Earlier this year one of the ISP providers in Sweden Tele2 announced that the first Swedish top domain name swipnet.se is going be shut down due to inactivity and the reason is quite simple.

 

I don't know exactly when, but from I understand Tele2 bought swipnet.se a couple of years ago and now they want to shut it down for good.  Unfortunately, if Tele2 does that then the first websites in Sweden will be lost for ever.

 

However Tele2 got a lot of comments and requests from people to preserve the swipnet.se domain, so now can swipnet.se be part of the first internet museum in Sweden later this year or next year 2015.
