Okay. I recently learned that thread necromancy is frowned upon. Please forgive me. That said. I have the problem of 'Skyrim Creation Kit' CTD after a few seconds of being at 'Initializing Archive.' -I have tried the 'Verify Integrity of Tool Files' through steam -I have tried to go through the Task manager to play with the compatibility (updated) (1) Windows 95 & 98 compatibility mode seams to cause it to take 10 seconds before it CTD Xp to windows 8 takes about 3-5 seconds before it CTDs. (2) Running it in 640x480 screen resolution causes it to CTD in 2 seconds. -I have tried two mods from nexus that were suppose to fix common problems. 1) Creation Kit Stability Performance Fixes by BoneTongue 2) Creation kit fixes by Darkwolfmodding -I have tried setting enableaudio= to 0 -I have tried editing the archive to load the masters suggested ' here ' on steam. I haven't deactivated all my mods to see if that is the reason yet. Should I? (update) Disabled all mods. Nothing. It is in the same folder as my skyrim launcher. Does it matter that that is on my HDD drive ' (D:\) ' ? I'm new to this whole modding thing and I don't know if I should have something additional. [07/15/2020] -Tried downloading via Bathesda Launcher and received an error message that 'Steam_api64.dll was not found' unistall\reinstall. Same error. -Zmerge In Vortex by Yggdrasil Modding pointed out a mod fix, but.... It is for the SE addition. Tried it anyways. CTD. [07/16/2020] -Adding 'Plugin list' from modwatch. [07/17/2020] -Tried copy pasting the SkyrimEditor.INI to a version that works on another computer. CTD after 10 seconds when it reaches 'Initalizing Archive.' -Tried making sure only Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x84 was installed. CTD -Reinstalled 2015-2019 knowing CK will CTD anyways. It did. -Tried following instructions on configuring CK provided by Neovalen posted [Here] CTD. -bEnableaudio= is set to 0 again. CTD.- -tried verifying integrity of tool files. 1 file failed. -uninstalled - reinstalled, run program. CTD. -Added the text back to Skrimeditor... CTD -unpacked and followed instructions correctly with the 'master fix'... CTD. Deleted it and Final in frustration. -Searching for more information. [7/22/2020] -uninstalled Skyrim & DLCs -deleted a folder of mods filled with redundancies that I had installed from another computer -reinstalled CK twice -made sure Skyrim's language was set to English (was already set to English) -Somehow, someway... It opens now. No CTDs on start up. Next step, I'm going to make a seperate folder for the .exe I will use to play Skyrim.
SharedInfos are voiced response lines used in more than one place, so that they didn't need to record the same lines over and over. Simple enough concept. However, make sharedinfo on an existing INFO creates a new INFO, then moves the new INFO into the sharedinfo list, and points the old INFO at the new INFO. That means the voice line would need to be re-recorded for the new INFO formid. Fixing requires xEdit. Swap the formids. Find the original INFO. Select change formid, control-C copy the original, change to any low unused number such as xx000888 (anything less than the next object id in the header). Control-click the DNAM response formid. (Write down that new response formid.) Select change formid, control-V paste the original formid. Go back to the unused number, and change it to the new response formid. Load up the CK again, check that it now is voiced. Also, a second CK bug is make sharedinfo doesn't clear the number of response lines. Go back to the now renumbered INFO, and re-select the same named response. That clears the number properly. (Or do it in xEdit, but I'm always worrying that the CK is doing something else we don't know about.)
So as my title describes. I'm having a problem with the SkyrimSE Creation Kit. I can load it up fine, open interior cells and do what I want fine. When I load an external cell my EditorWarnings.txt file starts growing insanely. I get a bunch of errors spammed repeatedly to the file like this: MODELS: Failed to load Data\Meshes\Terrain\Tamriel\Tamriel.32.64.96.BTR, Request result is 1 MODELS: Failed to load Data\Meshes\Terrain\Tamriel\Tamriel.32.64.128.BTR, Request result is 1 MODELS: Failed to load Data\Meshes\Terrain\Tamriel\Tamriel.32.96.32.BTR, Request result is 1 MODELS: Failed to load Data\Meshes\Terrain\Tamriel\Tamriel.32.96.64.BTR, Request result is 1 MODELS: Failed to load Data\Meshes\Terrain\Tamriel\Tamriel.32.128.32.BTR, Request result is 1 MODELS: Failed to load Data\Meshes\Terrain\Tamriel\Tamriel.32.128.64.BTR, Request result is 1 At last check the file was over 50mb Screenshot. My understanding is the BTR files have to do with 3D map terrain. I'm not sure where to go about handling this. Reproducing the issue: My system is fairly decent - Intel Core i7-4770k, 16GB ram, nVidia GTX980 and running on a 250gb SSD. The CreationKit.ini is unmodified. I created a CreationKitCustom.ini with this: [General] bAllowMultipleEditors=1 bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1 [Messages] bBlockMessageBoxes=1 Tested loading Skyrim.esm and Update.esm only. Tried with DLC files too with same result. Will move on to loading the DLC's if I can resolve the problem. Not using them for testing to get a reasonable load time for CK. Tested both Classic Skyrim and Special Edition Skyrim Creation Kit's. Classic works awesome with no issues at 120+fps. SE CK has a crazy 10fps render rate in the same exterior cell. If I turn on navmesh editing it drops to 1fps. Tested opening a specific cell Tamriel world cell (-7), (-14). I tried with a few others with the same results but decided to stick to a single one for troubleshooting. I'm trying to find out if anyone else is having the same issue? If anyone knows of a solution? Maybe a .ini tweak?
