This update introduces Nvidia DLSS support for our PC players. Compatible Nvidia graphic cards can now use DLSS Super Resolution, Deep Learning Anti-aliasing (DLAA), Nvidia Reflex Low Latency, and DLSS Frame generation. Please note: While DLSS Frame Generation is active, VSync needs to be toggled OFF to see the benefit. We are working to automatically adjust this setting in a future update.

Let Them Eat!

By popular request, we have added the ability to ingest food and drink items upon finding them in the environment. You can enjoy those Chunks immediately or save them for later. The choice is yours.

Starfield 1.8.86

Fixes and Improvements

Graphics

The Steam Beta branch has been updated with additional visual improvements related to DLSS. [This was all the official Discord notice said - more details pending a check of the files that were updated]

=========

Unfortunately that's all there is to this one. A delta patch between 1.8.84 and 1.8.86 showed the only changes are all in undecoded subrecords so there's no way to know what they are.

Starfield 1.8.88

Fixes and Improvements

Gameplay

Addressed an issue that would cause space matter to become stuck to player's ship during space travel. Loading a save will now remove the space clingon. Please note: This fix should address any space matter being stuck in your travels, but not in instances where player ships have New Atlantis attached. A fix for that will be released in a later update.

Outpost

Fixed an issue that prevents random guns from spawning in a newly created Weapon Case after loading a save.

Save/Load

[MSS/Xbox] Fixed an issue where players could experience crashes while saving during long playthrough without going through the Unity.

Some recent observations:

1) I can confirm that the bug with NPCs in underpants (e.g. Akila City guards) is fixed.

2) Apparently, the Shield perk bug has been officially fixed too (despite none of Beth's announcements saying so).

The fix isn't retroactive though. When I upgraded the shield generator on one of my ships, I got the 60% shield strength increase with rank 3 of the perk (which corresponds to the perk description). Another ship that hasn't been modified in several weeks now still has the 120% increase though (instead of setting the shield strength increase to 40% and 60%, respectively, ranks 2 and 3 did add up these percentages, resulting in actual increases of 60% and 120%). I assume that this will not change until I modify the shield generator in ship builder mode.

That FormID fix is a major one.  Not only did it stop the crashes on all my last saves where I was having them, the save size also went from 54,382 KB down to 31,349 KB (Level 92).

Posted

I checked it on my initial game save from September and for me it only dropped by 3 MB, but that's still 3MB I wasn't really expecting.

Starfield Update 1.12.30

Creations are here!

Creations are now available in Starfield. What does that mean? You can now access and play new content in Starfield. Creations may include new missions, gear, skins, weapons, and more! You’ll also find Bethesda Game Studios Creations including one of the new Trackers Alliance missions, The Vulture. You can find Creations via the in-game menu. For those of you who own Starfield's Premium Edition, you will also find 1000 Creation Credits within this menu.

If creating your own content for Starfield is something that interests you, you may also now download the Creation Kit for Starfield on Steam. Note, this is a separate download from the game download and is only available on Steam.

Trackers Alliance Missions Available

New missions have been added to Starfield as part of this update. Trackers Alliance establishes the first of several missions enabling you to live your best bounty-hunting life. The first mission, The Starjacker will have you in contact with a mysterious Tracker located in settlements throughout the Settled Systems. From there, let the hunts begin!

The second Trackers Alliance mission, The Vulture is available within the new Creations menu. And what bounty hunter is without their trusted methods to get the job done?

Bounty Scanning and Mission Boards!

This update also introduces the bounty scanner system that enables you to seek and destroy (or peacefully resolve...?) those targets with bounties on their heads. If you still want more, you can also check out the Elite Trackers Alliance mission board.

Armed and Ever Ready!

Those of you who appreciate being extra crafty may now find new melee weapon tiers and the ability to modify melee weapons when crafting. For those that prefer the firepower approach, ammo crafting has also been added with this update. You can research your preferred ammo at a Research Station and craft them at an Industrial Workbench!

Does the mod update automatically in Creation Club?  I'm running it, and I see it was updated, but in the past (Skyrim) I would have to tell the mod to update, but I see no option for that in Starfield's CC.

Arthmoor posted this over in The Coffee Pod thread at Steam as regards updating of mods in the Creation Club:

"They update when you go to the Creations menu and either manually update each one, or ask it to update all of them. Just be careful with the "all" option because that's been known to pull a stupid and download ALL of the ones you have whether they need updating or not."

https://steamcommunity.com/app/1716740/discussions/0/3807281445020926448/?ctp=231#c6811212184812862202

Now, if you are referring to official updates from Bethesda, they are automatically applied by Steam as per your Steam settings.

I was expecting that option, but didn't see it last night.  I'll try again tonight and see if it will let me update.

Still no option for an update last night.  Load order page says Version 0, but then it says that on all the mods.  Really no way for me to tell if the version I'm using is updated as far as I know.  But I'll keep trucking along.

If you're looking for the game version that should be on the settings menu in the game, lower left corner.

If you're looking for the USFP's version, that should be in the Installed Content menu listing for the USFP.
