Alternate Start Live Another Life is not surprising me enough

There are a few mods that add scenarios to ASLAL.  This doubles the number of choices.  Yet when I pick "Suprise Me", it always ignores the additional scenarios and only picks from the default ones.  I did a quick save before picking surprise me, then quick restore as soon as I plop into a scenario.  I did that 12 times in a row and never got one of the added choices.  I arrived by boat a few times, landed in a random inn a few times, was attacked by bandits once, and was a necromancer once.

Can ASLAL be made to truly surprise me by picking from all available choices?
