For anyone who has not heard of these, I just recently found out about them myself.

Programming / Sound / Textures .. everything by ONE DEVELOPER!

Download the demo off the Official site links below, and if you like either of them you can pay with PayPal and receive an email with a key which unlocks the full game from the demo, or in the case of Evochron you can also buy it on Steam

Arvoch Alliance - https://www.starwraith.com/arvochalliance/features.htm

Evochron Legacy - https://www.starwraith.com/evochronlegacy/about.htm

Arvoch apparently is more of a Mission based Combat sim, and involves you in the war pre-Evochron Legacy :

"Arvoch Alliance SE is a mission based single player and multiplayer 3D space combat simulation. You can take on the single player campaign, launch into free flight practice with optional unarmed drones, join other players in Coop or PvP multiplayer objectives, or even design your own missions and campaigns. The single player campaign will take you through the battles and events that eventually lead up to the liberation of the Evochron quadrant. You are in command as the story develops through 30 missions of diverse objectives spanning a variety of locations ranging from dense sensor restricting nebula clouds to hurricane force gas giant planet atmospheres. You will be called upon to patrol, escort, mine, spy, capture, rescue, and even build space stations. Each mission begins with a stage based briefing that reviews the conditions and objectives along with a loadout menu that lets you select the ships for your flight group along with the weapon and equipment configuration of the ship you fly. You must formulate an effective strategy both before you launch and during the mission as events unfold and conditions change. You command your team with a series of available directives for attacking, defending, holding at a position, regrouping, and repairing/reloading. The available Tactical Console lets you monitor the status of all ships in sensor range to help aid you in making the decision on which orders to give and to which ships under your command."

Evochron has a bit of all sorts :

"Evochron Legacy SE is an advanced freeform 'open world' space flight simulation focused on combat, trade, exploration, and survival gameplay with pilot controlled spacecraft management. Engage in an ongoing large scale battle between human factions as a civilian mercenary or confront an alien threat at designated war zones for intense battles and access to powerful military hardware. Or focus on more peaceful activities. Choose from a myriad of objectives and options including buying, trading, spying, racing, escorting, rescuing, delivering, answering distress calls, mining, exploring, clearing asteroids, hiring crew members, building stations, and designing your ship for the role you want to play."

Evochron seems to be bigger and a bit more chilled if you want it to be.

Both are very acomplished, the guy behind them is talented. Worth a look if you are into Space Simulators. Apparently the tutorial for just flying a space ship is an hour long, its a lot more involved than say X4 Foundations, I haven't played Elite Dangerous but from the descriptions I would say its closer in flight complexity. You can land on Planets but not as easily as with No Man's Sky, beware entering the atmosphere you dont burn up, the transition from Space to atmosphere flight is seamless as is the transition from Newtonian physics (or assisted) to atmospheric flight where your wings and ship design provide the lift.

Think I am going to give Evochron Legacy a shot, at least try out the demo and fire a few bucks his way for the shear dedication put into it all :)

Even though it looks a little bit old school, both games take advantage of Vulkan API. Development is still ongoing, original Evochron was launched in 2005.

Evochron Legacy has had a "Very Positive" reception on Steam, but it might be more attractive to old school simulator fans like me.

Ah, yes, Star Wraith - from the Dark Times when space sims were not "a thing".
