anonymouselbow
I don't know if this is a feature of the game or not, but it's happened different ways I'm sharing: 1) I was attacked by Justiciars (because they didn't like my answer) escorting a prisoner, and while I was playing sneak, the prisoner and mage suddenly disappeared. 2) During this same encounter, my horse was killed. I bought another horse and returned to the scene but the dead horse carcass was gone with all the inventory. 3) I lured a bandit into an area with a sabre cat, which killed the bandit, however the bandit's body was gone when I returned to the area to loot it. 4) I have watched as a beehive inside my home's greenhouse will fade in and out of view depending where my character is standing. I have not installed any mods yet wanting to get the most basic experience of the game. PC/Steam version. USSEP seems super interesting and wondering how often fixes have historically made into an official patch and what prevents the project from becoming official? BlackPete
As far as the bodies disappearing goes, that's just the world encounter(s) unloading. It's completely normal for that to happen when you get far enough away. If you want to loot the NPCs associated with those encounters it has to be done before you leave the area, otherwise the game removes them like happened in your case. If your horse dies and you go and buy another one, the game will also probably delete the old horse. For that reason, it's best not to store loot in corpses, because it may not be there when you come back. Though there are several locations in the game that never reset, it's best to play it safe and only store items that you want to keep in containers in player homes. None of the USSEP fixes (at least to our knowledge) have made it into an official patch. The project team isn't associated with Bethesda; we're just volunteer modders. Though we wouldn't have any problem with Bethesda incorporating our fixes, they haven't shown any interest in doing so even though they're undoubtedly well aware of the existence of the patch project. This has always bewildered me. Many of these fixes are very simple, yet BGS just won't do it? I mean would it kill them to just hire one person to just sit down and review the USSEP patch notes, go though the items one at a time, and just update the main game with just the tiniest easy fixes. It couldn't be easier for them, there's a freaking list of the bugs that are fixed. Yet they don't and won't do it. I don't know if this is just their pride getting in the way or are they just stupid. I mean who wouldn't take the opportunity to easily polish the game for the players? Someone who doesn't care about the players, that's who.

According to Mark Kern, Team Lead for World of Warcraft, there are legal reasons why a game studio rejects ideas submitted by anyone outside the studio. Perhaps this is the reason? Perhaps this is the reason? yes I watched that video a while back think you showed it in a similar discution on Beth net. There is a way round that either buy it or the original author gives a free licence to allow Beth to use it to fix their game. Or some other legal mumbo jumbo beneficial to both parties. Or best of all hire the unofficial patch team and just pay them handsomely to do their thing. PS where do you think the fishing CC mod came from, it's almost identical to Chesko's mod. Check out this mod for old rim from chesko Art of the Catch at Skyrim Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) As is survival mode very similar to a mod proposed on Chesko's own web site, in fact I would not be surprised if Chesko is not employed by Bethesda in some way be it on staff or a consultant, of course I have no hard evidence so make up your own mind about it. Uncus
Last Seed - Primary Needs Wellness Disease at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) just found this its the survival like mod I was talking about above. its also available for old rim and has been posted twice first by chesko in 2017, released as a test mod. Then later by Aytrus in 2021 which appears to be a full release not sur how legal it is I have not played the latest version yet.
LeBurns
I've seen the vid but I'm not sure that applies here. The game belongs to BGS. And, I think technically anything you make with it, even patches, belongs to BGS. So they should be able to use it if that want. Not exactly sure how the legalize reads, but from what I understood I can't take Skyrim's software for example and make something else out of it and sell it without BGS consent. Besides BGS could still fix the bugs themselves. What's given to them from the unofficial patch is a detailed list of what needs fixed. Just using that they could fix the 'simple' stuff themselves. On bodies disappearing, there is a second side to this one and it took me forever to understand what was happening. I have a OP bow with significant power and range (It will one-shot a Legendary Dragon if you can manage to sneak up on it). Periodically, when a target is hit at sufficient range, it disappears by the time I get too it. It also happens when a target is hit and knocked flailing into the next cell. They disappear because I was sufficiently distant that the cell with the body cleaned itself up by the time I got to it. Oh well, he's dead, and I'm not. anonymouselbow
I forgot to check this post until now. So, the strange thing is the inconsistencies of the disappearing bodies: Some were living and suddenly vanish from combat. Other dead bodies linger for several days. But some disappear in less than an hour (eg. my killed horse with so much loot being the harshest example). I have however noticed another thing since I posted: some carcasses fall through the ground, then depending whether it gets stuck I could loot/interact with it in TCL mode, or the body may have simply fallen down out of sight. Regarding the USSEP question, I watched the YouTube video but I don't see how that applies to either Bethesda contracting with the USSEP team or simply patching the game themselves. From what I gather, the USSEP is only focused on patching bugs and not adding new ideas to the game, bugs which must've been reported to Bethesda since release in 2011 multiple times. Considering how much money they've likely gained from the game and that they have a Creation Club already, means they aren't averse to contracts with mod authors. I like the option also of Bethesda hiring somebody that showed an interest and ability to fix the bugs. I wonder if either the USSEP team or Bethesda have reached out to the other regarding working together.
