[RELz] LOOT - Load Order Optimisation Tool

WrinklyNinja

Recommended Posts

I've started implementing plugin groups, and there is now a build available that supports them, with the following qualifiers:

  • I haven't yet added groups to any masterlist, so everything currently belongs to the default group.
  • It's not yet possible to define new groups or edit groups' after sets in the UI. You can edit your userlist to define some though.
  • Groups currently exist alongside priorities, I haven't yet removed support for the latter.

I'm interested in getting some early feedback so that I don't miss anything obvious (or not so obvious): I initially forgot I'd need to add an API function to set groups for users to be able to edit them... I've updated the docs to include groups, but the branch's docs don't seem to be building for some reason, so just see the first post in the first link for the details.

As well as trying out the functionality, I'll need to come up with names for the groups that will replace the priorities currently used in the masterlists. I'm terrible at naming things, so suggestions would be great!

I also have kb140245 installed on my Win7 machine with LOOT 0.12.4 and cannot acquire a masterlist. But I am a complete newb when it comes to this.

Please, which MS Easy Fix and what Registry key?  Alternatively, how do you manually download and install a masterlist?

Sorry for being so stupid about all this. Will this mean manually installing any new masterlists every single time from now on?

Thanks for any help!

All the information you need should be on this Microsoft page, though it's not really written accessibly.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, sorry, I figured it all out this morning and got the new masterlist installed.

I should know not to try and fix things late at night, but I panicked.

It's been said before, but I will say too: thank you all for all your work, it is appreciated.

Yesterday, I installed this mod and sorted my loadorder with LOOT, which gave me this error and if it matters I use LOOT 0.11.0 (build 7976a4de).  It's outdated, I know.

But so far I haven't got a single error until now and that goes for both SLE and SSE.  Why is that I get this error now and not before despite for not updating LOOT earlier?

Looks like another certificate/TLS-related error, the message is slightly different but that may just be because you're using an older version.

I updated LOOT and now I get this error.

First, I don't use Chromium and I can't see why Chromium is even mentioned.  Also, the 3rd error mentions that I don't have a masterlist for Skyrim, which is correct, but LOOT automatically start with Skyrim and not SSE.

So why not change that to let LOOT scan for saved masterlists, instead of as it is now automatically start with the first listed game in my case Skyrim.

Chromium is mentioned because that's what LOOT uses to display its UI. LOOT starts for either whatever the last used game was, or the first detected installed game. I don't see any benefit to checking for a masterlist in that process, because it's something that generally only affects the first run, which won't have any masterlists anyway.

That certificate check failure is the same one everyone else is getting.

Then LOOT starts with the first detected game at least is what LOOT does on my end.

The only benefit as I see it is, because any user who is playing both SLE, SSE and has only a masterlist for one game generated.

In my case I play both games, not much SLE these days, and both games are modded and working, but despite that I cannot generate a masterlist in LOOT for SLE no matter what I do.

I'm sorry to interrupt, but I found this thread and seek the same help. I updated LOOT yesterday and wanted to sort my Fallout 4, only to get much the same error.

I'm using Win 10 (Home) latest updates, set up is well away from C: Program Files.

I could pull up a master list from GitHub, but the site confuses my poor little brain cell and I can't find anything to download.

Shall I just be patient and wait or is there something local I can fix?

Thank you and sorry to trouble you.

Just delete the C:\Users\Clive\AppData\Local\LOOT\Fallout4 directory, it looks like a previous update failed half way through.

Hello, I been using Loot for a long time but suddenly this week I can no longer use it on Skyrim. Tried everything I can think of to fix it but no luck. Deleted all files related to Loot still nothing.

Checking for masterlist updates consistently gives me this...is it another warning about needing to update the TLS protocols? Yes, I have an older version which will be updated once I sort thru a couple of things unrelated to LOOT.

I updated loot yesterday and now when I try to run loot for Fallout 4, NV or Skyrim it says no masterlist present. When I try to update masterlist or sort my load order it says something went wrong.

If I hit sort load order or update masterlist I just get an error.

Here is my debuglog:

Probably, but I can't tell without a debug log.

That's #882.

That issue prevents me for generating a master list for SLE regardless if I use the latest LOOT or an earlier version, which makes it almost impossible for me to sort my loadorder.

Instead I need to rely on the master list for the latest gamesave I have usually a quicksave, which isn't a good solution but hey it's working for now.  And that reminds me how it was in Morrowind about 8-10 years ago. :P

I suspect that issue has something to do with Google's  - https:// protocol for all websites - policy.

Leo have you tried the fix everyone is using yet ?

The one mentioned later in the 882 issue, and the same fix linked by pStyle on nexus, and the same fix linked on the LOOT download page = The fix that updates older windows to include TLS 1.2 encryption, and the registry key additions which need to be made ?

Its a windows issue, and you need to correct it so that LOOT and its communications with GitHub can work properly again.

No, I haven't not yet anyway, but I had just downloaded everything I need and I'll try the EasyFix file as it seems to fix the issue for most people.

I just tried the EasyFix and it seems the EasyFix fixed my issue for SSE.  However, it does NOT fix my issue for SLE, because I already had disabled (disable=white or enable=blue) the updating the masterlist in LOOT before sorting my loadorder.

And it doesn't make a difference if I manually copied the masterlist.yaml to the %LOCAL\APPDATA\LOOT% folder either.  So I wonder, did I manually added the masterlist incorrectly since it doesn't seems to work?

Also, if it matters I don't have Windows Firewall active since I use Panda Protection antivirus.

Apologies...I brain-farted and posted before attaching the log (wall o' text warning).

LOOTDebugLog.txt

Looks like it's issue #882 too.

What's your SLE issue? Can you post your debug log for it?

I don't think that's necessary since I fix it and now I was able to update the masterlist via LOOT without getting an error. :)

Hello LOOT users,

I am very new to modding and chose Fallout New Vegas as a starting point. That said, I've installed LOOT and it runs wonderfully, however, I am unable to download the Masterlist as I don't know how to set up a correct install path. I know that it needs to be "supplied," but I have no idea how to do that. One Readme, numerous google searches, and a couple hours later, and I still haven't found an explanation on how to do this. The specific error code I get is listed below, if that helps.

  • [17:52:10.012073] [warning]: Chromium console message: Styling master document from stylesheets defined in HTML Imports is deprecated, and is planned to be removed in M65, around March 2018. Please refer to https://goo.gl/EGXzpw for possible migration paths.
  • [17:52:10.103538] [warning]: Blocking load of resource at https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Roboto+Mono:400,700|Roboto:400,300,300italic,400italic,500,500italic,700,700italic
  • [17:52:11.214963] [warning]: No masterlist present at C:\Users\Zachery\AppData\Local\LOOT\FalloutNV\masterlist.yaml
  • [17:52:14.875220] [error]: Exception while executing query: Given masterlist path "C:\Users\Zachery\AppData\Local\LOOT\FalloutNV\masterlist.yaml" does not have a valid parent directory.
  • [17:52:14.901335] [error]: Chromium console message from http://loot/ui/js/handlePromiseError.js at line 14: Error: Oh no, something went wrong! You can check your LOOTDebugLog.txt (you can get to it through the main menu) for more information.    at onFailure (http://loot/ui/js/query.js:43:16)

I don't know if this is the right place for this question, but I don't know where better to ask, so I apologize if this is misplaced noise. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

So, I had the same error with LOOT where I could not update the masterlist. It showed the LOOTDebug.txt error that others have mentioned. I used google and checked everything people have mentioned: I made sure my Win7 was up to date, I checked that TLS 1.2 support is enabled and all that and still there was nothing. Eventually found my way into this thread. I found the page about the Easy Fix on Microsoft's page and downloaded it then tried updating the masterlist again, hastily, but again the error. Then I thought like a rational person and restarted my pc and now LOOT seems to be working fine. No errors when checking for masterlist updates or when sorting the plugins. So, I guess this means everything should be alright now?
