Animated flame not keeping up with a moving object

I've run into a problem creating physics enabled lanterns; When the lanterns move, the flames can't keep up.

 

Any suggestions on how to improve it? Some .ini tweak, or animation property? Maybe replacing the animation with an actual 3d modelled flame?

Strange, a torch also uses AddOn node for flames and doesn't have such issues. I suggest to check it's flame in NifSkope.

Hard to say without seeing the modified nif. I would assume the NiNode holding the flame information would need to be included in the NiControllerManager somehow. Perhaps take a look at the Wearable Lanterns mod to see how it does it?
