Owned trash containers in cities break world interaction

Recommended Posts

The change to now owned trash containers in settlements interfere with the following world interaction.

When taking food from a trash barrel/container in cities or settlements while a nearby resident is watching a dialog is triggered:

* NPC1:"What's he/she doing rummaging around in there?"

* NPC2 (if there is one nearby) replies: "Perhaps he/she is looking for food?

Not all containers are owned so that isn't "broken" the way you're implying. You just need to be rummaging one that's not owned by someone.

I hadn't tried the game for such a long time, the owned containers really took me by surprise. In the past, I'd come loaded down with stuff (from Helgen, for example) and dump it temporarily into the first barrel seen. I had to hunt all around Riverwood before I found a couple of unowned barrels. (And they probably should be owned.)

However, even with owned stuff (once friendly) I did have a boy say "That was just sitting there for taking, wish I'd thought of that."
