[Fallout 4] Official Patch 1.10.162

That would be an error on Steam's apart then, not Bethesda's. Try not to be so quick to blame them for stuff they didn't do :P

I had that permanent beta tag error before. Usually the last beta version becomes the release version, and if you were subscribed to the beta channel at that time, the tag stuck. Only way to get rid of the tag is to opt out of beta, while a beta is still running. Opting out with no beta available keeps the tag for no discernible reason. Only solution in the absence of a running beta program is a complete wipe and reinstall.

Why blame one company when you can blame both. To me it looks like Steam has an error prone system and Bethesda didn't figure out how to use it properly. ?

Who is to blame for that issue I still dont know, having not had any official feedback from either support ticket, all I know is other games have not had the same problem, whereas I have witnessed in both FO4 and Skyrim official forums the same problem being experienced by other users aswell as myself. I also had an issue with GOG Galaxy while I tried it out for a short while, and GOG replied with "Contact Hellogames for support with this issue", who did respond in short order and fixed the relevant issue .. which makes me think now that problems with games clients are not always necessarily the client makers. So I am biased towards thinking Bugthesda are to blame in this case. Anyway doesnt matter, seems to have cleared permanently now.

It ought to be showing normally now considering the patch is no longer beta :P

Whoops I need to catch up (distracted doing a conversion of A.N.U.S on Skyrim SE Nexus)

Edit : Yep its still showing as "Fallout 4" in the client, so the [beta] label has been kicked in to touch for good.

Got all of those cc files back again though with the proper update.

Yes, apparently the CC updated coming down with the patch is intentional.

Just testing this - The official patch downloaded, but left me with all the cc files it previously downloaded :

So I am guessing its a case of manually deleting them if they are already on your machine, and then they will no longer redownload ...

Testing the theory, going to delete them and then verify cache ...

... Steam client "33 Items failed to validate - reacquiring"

And they all came back like bad pennies.

So I guess its anything new from now on?, and we are stuck with these useless files.

Found an updated comment by Cartogriffi .. Seems that is the case, they are still trying to form a workaround for PC players and the already downloaded content, but future cc content will not auto download .. So we will not end up with a slowly diminishing hard drive

See Cartigriffi's second post here

Why do the Creation Club assets download for everyone? [UPDATED]
This was a requirement for some platforms and how Creation Club needed to work. Most other games that offer similar content do the same. We realize this is a frustration point for players and we are working on a solution to change the way this functions. On the PC, this will not happen with Skyrim Special Edition, and has been patched for future releases on Fallout 4.

I still think it was a very petty thing to complain about in 2017, but hey, they heard people and responded.

Based on F4SE and just like it was for 10.10.106, 1.10.111 does not make any change to the existing code, so it should contain no fixes to the runtime, only additions.
