How to distinguish run-time created actors from hand-placed ones ?

Hello,

What is the best mean for a mod to know if an actor was "hand-placed", and therefore maybe quest-critical, or if he's just a run-time created actor of no importance ?

For example, can the mod test if the reference ID starts with "FF", meaning it's a run-time created actor, or if the reference ID starts with "00", meaning it's a hand-placed actor ?

There's no good way to know that. Quests can generate runtime actors to fill aliases for critical roles and those NPCs will all start with FF.

Ok thank you. That explains why for example Wyndelius Gatharian in Shroud Hearth Barrow has reference IDs which start either with "FF" or with "00".
