Hi all!

 

 

After I installed WBSA 304.3, TES5Edit, SKSE I began to install all mods I wanted to use for a fresh game and to my surprise only the usual DLC plus Update.esm needed cleaning, which I did and I thought this should be easy to finish before I start a new game.  However, two issues emerged...

 

My first problem is that one of the mods I installed was the UAR mod and according to the readme all esp was already marked as mergeable, but Wrye Bash refuses to merge the last esp no matter what I do.

•  ++ SPTUnlimitedAmulets.esp
•  ++ SPTUnlimitedAmuletsDragonborn.esp
•  ++ SPTUnlimitedRings.esp
•  2E SPTUnlimitedRingsDragonborn.esp

I've re-run BOSS a couple of times and even deleted the bashed patch then creating a new one, checked, re-checked anything I can possible think of, but no Wrye Bash still refuse to merge the last one.  Period!

 

Has anyone notice this before or have I ran into a bug (new?) in WBSA 304.3?

 

 

The second is not related to BOSS or Wrye Bash and despite for having a clean loadorder I did a quick check in TES5Edit, which gave me this information about an esp and I think this mod is corrupt.

Well, the first issue, does the esp have bash tags?

 

You probably know this, but this is from wryemusings.com (where I go when I have Bash questions);

Most mod files are not mergeable. To be mergeable by Bash, the mod must:

•  Only contain record types that Bash recognizes (e.g., no game settings, cells, dialog, etc.)

•  Not contain any new records – i.e., it must only patch records that already exist.

•  Determination of whether a given mod is mergeable or not is done automatically by Bash. Mods that are mergeable are marked with green text in the main mod list. If a given mod is not mergeable and you would like to know why, run the Mark Mergeable command on it. (Note that the old "Merge" tag is now ignored.)

•  If during construction of the patch, records in the mod are overridden by another mod that loads after it, then the later loading mod will win. In other words, the ordinary record shadowing rules are applied while merging. (Hence, it can be useful to think of a merged mod as being virtually active.)

So check it in TES5Edit to see if all these are applicable.

 

As for the second issue, I'm no expert but it just seems to me that the mod has not been updated for a long time. You might want to try opening it in the CK and re-saving it to update it to 1.9 changes. Or, if there's no issue with the armor while playing, then it should be fine.

You should really take up Bash questions with the Bash team. None of us here are on that development team (other than Sharlikran) so we can't get into any sort of major details.

So check it in TES5Edit to see if all these are applicable.

 

As for the second issue, I'm no expert but it just seems to me that the mod has not been updated for a long time. You might want to try opening it in the CK and re-saving it to update it to 1.9 changes. Or, if there's no issue with the armor while playing, then it should be fine.

No it does not have in fact all esp doesn't have a bash tag and that was the reason why I re-run BOSS to make sure the bash tags is properly set.

You're correct.  The mod was released before the CK 1.9 patch, so it definitely needs to be updated by re-saving it in CK. :)

 

You should really take up Bash questions with the Bash team. None of us here are on that development team (other than Sharlikran) so we can't get into any sort of major details.

Sure I can bring up the question with WB-team, but since I had another issue too I thought to ask for help in a separate thread rather than to ask for help in the Wrye Bash thread for two different issues one related the other not related.

Okay here is another weirdness I notice today.  I dunno what happen, but I suspect that a least one mod is causing this or should I say about how two mods were merged into sort of a mod patch to enhance the immersion of quests in-game.

 

I was heading back to Dragonreach after I killed Mirmulnir when I saw on the map the map marker was gone and I know for sure that shouldn't happen at all, so that's why I post my observations here in case anyone of you guys have a clue what's going on.

 

However that isn't the only thing I've notice in my game and all started right after I rescued Hadvar in the Helgen Keep cave when using the LAL mod, because normally Hadvar will answer my questions if I choose to do so via dialogue and accompany me to Alvar in Riverwood.  None of these things happen and how I became aware of it is simple, because Hadvar were somehow using Ralof's scene when avoiding for being detected and took a sneak position behind a rock and told me that we should split up.

EDIT:  I forgot to add a possible issue with the guard at the city gate.  You know who approach the player when the city was closed and told you that only persons with urgent official matters is gonna to get into Whiterun.  After I got clearance to enter Whiterun the guard was not moving and have been standing there in the same spot, which shouldn't happen and I think something isn't right here.

I doubt that since the author are no longer maintaining the UAR mod and it has the BOD2 record instead of the old BODT record.

 

I tried to update the SPTUnlimitedRingsDragonborn.esp in CK today, but nope CK simply refuses to load it without an error saying something about a localization string file or similar and no matter what I try to do the result is the same CK won't load it.

 

So I guess that I can use it without being merged into the bashed patch, but that arise a question about being safe and stable to use.  If the SPTUnlimitedRingsDragonborn.esp can be somehow fixed then I'll use it, but if that cannot be done what content in Dragonborn is missing in the UAR mod.

The mod has been confirmed to be corrupt and today I notice the mod can no longer be found on Nexus, but I don't know if the author make the call or the mods on Nexus to remove the mod.
