MrMcDudebro Posted September 14 Posted September 14 PlayStation 4 edition on PlayStation 5. Survival playthrough. I've come across a rather damaging cell streaming issue of some kind around Quincy. Approaching the location does not let the assets load completely. Buildings, enemies, furniture, etc. won't always load in properly. Textures can remain stuck using their long-distance visuals and appear blurry and flat even when up close. Certain assets will also appear to float because the surrounding geometry hasn't loaded. Sometimes I've been able to venture into the eye of this storm, but most times the game will either rarely crash or, more commonly, cause the game to stop in the exterior and enter an infinite loading screen. Before the loading screen, sprinting becomes unavailable, likely because the game is attempting to load the assets and choking. The distance from Quincy at which this phenomenon begins varies. I've been troubleshooting this issue for about three days and was finally able to isolate UFO4P as the trigger. I've approached Quincy both after starting War Paint and on an earlier save where War Paint had not even been discovered yet, and the same problem occurred repeatedly in both cases. I eventually deleted UFO4P completely and restarted the game. Quincy loaded normally. Removing UFO4P also disabled a dialogue mod that depended on it, so I didn't consider that test conclusive by itself. I then reinstalled UFO4P while leaving the dependent dialogue mod disabled and tested Quincy again. The problem immediately returned. So at this point I can consistently reproduce this. UFO4P removed and Quincy loads normally. UFO4P installed and Quincy fails to stream/load correctly. I don't know whether the underlying problem is directly within UFO4P or whether UFO4P is interacting with something else in my load order, but its presence is the variable I've been able to isolate that consistently determines whether Quincy works. This is rather detrimental to this playthrough in particular because this is a narrative Minuteman build where Quincy was supposed to be something the whole campaign was building toward. I had been planning this part of the campaign for weeks, only to finally arrive and find the location effectively unusable, let alone being able to properly play the quest there. I know this bug appears to be rather recent, and I've seen a few other PlayStation players reporting very similar problems around Quincy/Vault 88 within the last few days. Please take a look at this as soon as you're able. Most players may just go "eh, guess that's busted" and move on, but I was fully immersed in this playthrough and had built toward returning to Quincy as a major climax, only to have the wind completely taken out of my sails. I'm happy to provide my load order, reproduce the issue again, or perform any specific tests that would help narrow down what's causing it.
