deaths_soul Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 (edited) Is there no way to get inline preformatted text on the current version of IPS? It'd really help with certain things. Before they removed BBCode, it was possible to create an inline code tag using the display: inline style applied to a pre block but that may no longer be possible Edited December 27, 2025 by deaths_soul
Arthmoor Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 That would probably be something you'd need to ask on the site that supports the CKEditor plugin, which is what IPS uses. Every time I've ever asked about things to do with the editor that's where they've sent me. It's not a great customer service experience.
deaths_soul Posted December 29, 2025 Author Posted December 29, 2025 (edited) Crumpets. Thanks, I'll go pester them about it. Tired of not being able to properly format things like directory paths and whatnot Edit: So, question! It looks like this is supported in CKEditor 5. I'm assuming IPS is using an older version, then? In which case, it's probably not worth pestering the CKEditor folks since the feature is indeed in the later versions. Guess we'll just need to wait for IPS to upgrade the component, whenever that will be. Edited December 29, 2025 by deaths_soul
Arthmoor Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 It wouldn't do any good to contact CKEditor anyway. I just found a blog post they made that says they changed to a new editor for IPS 5. So they won't be upgrading the component since they typically don't do much with their previous versions once the latest ones are out.
deaths_soul Posted December 29, 2025 Author Posted December 29, 2025 Yuck, yet another posting syntax to learn. Why can't they just stick with common practices instead of reinventing the wheel every major version...? Thanks for looking into it
