Katsuro Posted December 15, 2025 Posted December 15, 2025 Not sure I have the exact term but having an issue with a tree mod I am making. I will try and describe it the best I can. The mod I am making replaces vanilla tree models with Nature of the Wildlands models (permission was granted). The trees I chose are renamed their vanilla counterpart (like the NotW tree model for an aspen was renamed treeaspen01 and so on). My mod is the only mod active in the Steam version of the game, the nifs and textures only for my mod. I removed every mod in the GOG version (That's my main playing version, Steam is my son's) to run TexGen and then xLODGen to make billboards for use on the XBox version (which I also play) Only a couple trees were moved in my .esp, those being the ones in Froki's Shack (interior) Gildergleam, Eldergleam and the 3 trees that have the spider ambush in Eastmarch. While there may be more, as I haven't explored every part of Skyrim with my mod, there are some trees in Morthal Swamp that have the LoD Billboard still visible when right on top of it, inside of the tree it's supposed to represent. Would anyone know why this is happening?
Katsuro Posted December 15, 2025 Author Posted December 15, 2025 *** UPDATE *** I was doing a websearch also and something was said about tree mods flagged as esl or something that may cause this issue. I had "Trees in Cities", which always moved to the top of the load order, and removed that for giggles. Now the issue seems to have resolved. Odd, but I will just have to either use a different mod or just use mine
Arthmoor Posted December 15, 2025 Posted December 15, 2025 So this mod you had flagged ESL caused the trees defined in it to stay in LOD form when you got close to them? If so that's just another weird quirk of ESL flies to make note of.
