alceryes Posted April 5 Posted April 5 (edited) I know this is all speculation at the moment, but if an Oblivion remake is released and if Bethesda allows modding, and releases the tool(s) needed, would the unofficial patch team consider creating an Unofficial Oblivion Remake Patch? Arthmoor Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Just to be perfectly clear here for anyone stumbling on this months (or years) from now. No such remake is coming. All of the leakers to date have said it would be out already and it's obviously not here and Bethesda has made absolutely no noise about it at all. They would have by this point if it were real. That said, if they do such a thing down the road, like maybe for the 20th anniversary next year, then the existence of a UOP for the remake would depend on interest in buying it and such. There's a good chance they'd end up with the same bugs because it would be unlikely they'd invest time into that in addition to the remake itself. So at least as far as plugin data would be concerned it might be possible to convert the existing UOP over minus the mesh and texture work which would obviously be obsolete. Now. I'd suggest doing yourself a favor and waiting for Skyblivion to release later this year instead. Cause I and many others are 100% convinced that this is what these so-called leakers are confusing themselves with. smr1957 1
Sigurð Stormhand Posted April 8 Posted April 8 On a related note, if a remake does come, the UOP won't suddenly stop. Even if it allows modding it will take years before the modding ecosystem is up and running, so we'll likely keep going with the UOP sporadically as currently.
TheCoolCrushIceKiller Posted April 10 Posted April 10 (edited) That would be absolutely retarded if the so called leakers confuse a remake with Skyblivion, also what does UOP mean? Unofficial Oblivion Project Edited April 10 by TheCoolCrushIceKiller Acronym possibly understood
Arthmoor Posted April 10 Posted April 10 UOP = Unofficial Oblivion Patch. If you hover over anything with the dotted underline the site will tell you what it means. TheCoolCrushIceKiller 1

Arthmoor Posted April 12 Posted April 12 It's been part of the site ever since we switched to IPB. The definitions were set up years ago.
Sigurð Stormhand Posted Tuesday at 03:32 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:32 PM This topic is alread here so I guess I'll just say it. Yes, we have seen the screenshots, yes we are surprised. No, we do not currently have any concrete plans. We'll have to see what mod-ability is like first.
lmstearn Posted Wednesday at 05:14 AM Posted Wednesday at 05:14 AM Nothing yet at the official, plenty of info from other sources indicating some kind of shadow drop in the works. Even from the august Forbes: https://www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2025/04/15/elder-scrolls-iv-oblivion-remake-images-leak-ahead-of-imminent-release/
Arthmoor Posted Wednesday at 06:57 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:57 PM Forbes, like many others, has fallen victim to a falsity. Dig deep enough and you'll find the only "source" came from whoever hacked the Virtuous Games server and uploaded files that don't prove anything other than the AI image generators that were used aren't half bad. lmstearn 1
RabidGears Posted Thursday at 12:05 AM Posted Thursday at 12:05 AM (edited) It could be real, but I'll believe it when it releases. If there was a video of game-play maybe it would be more believable instead of still images. Edit: Also...It was originally said that this was just going to be using UE to render what was already in the game, yet there are clearly new models and textures in those shots, not to mention differences in item placement. Wouldn't that be more in line with a remake, not a remaster? Edited Thursday at 12:19 AM by RabidGears
Arthmoor Posted Thursday at 12:18 AM Posted Thursday at 12:18 AM Well according to the supposed leaks, we'll know by this time next week.
