  1. Hey! I'm new to modding and I'm trying to figure out how to make a script so a weapon drains magicka while the player has it drawn. For that, I devised two scripts. One script for a magic effect that drains the player's magicka over time when they have a weapon drawn. The effect is registered to listen for the ACTOR_ACTION_DRAW_START and ACTOR_ACTION_SHEATH_END actor actions, which correspond to when the player begins or ends drawing their weapon. When the player begins drawing their weapon, the script stores the player's base magicka value and registers for updates every 2 seconds. The script then drains a percentage of the player's magicka every update until either the player's magicka reaches 0 or 30 updates have occurred. If the player sheaths their weapon, the script unregisters for updates and stops draining magicka. And also a script for adding the mentioned magic effect once the player equips the weapon (and a little bit more). Script for the magic effect: https://pastebin.com/9GiB2W11 Script for the weapon: https://pastebin.com/se3V55pB I have done the whole "attach the magic effec to a spell, attach the spell to the weapon via a script" thing but it just doesnt work . The message that the Drain Magicka Effect was added does show up, but it never gets added. It doesnt show up in the active effects page nor does any actual effect on the player's magicka happen. I really dont know what to do about this.
  2. I've spent actual days trying to figure out why my game is crashing and i just can't. (skyrim special edition). I look in papyrus every time and see this""Unable to bind script CustomINISettingsControllerScript to Active effect 4 on (00000014) because their base types do not match"" Always appears before a crash i've googled this every possible way and cant find anything. the active effect can be any number and usually appears multiple times. I've used loot, changed load order, everything, nothing works. If someone has spare time to look at the papyrus, plugins and mods I would be forever grateful because this is beyond my power at this point. Papyrus.0.log plugins.txt Skyrim.ini loadorder.txt
  3. Hi everyone I was wondering, apart from using USSEP + CC fixes. What other mods I could use in combination with those ? I already check the thread with additional mods that work well with USSEP but I wanted to know about more fixes and patches engine wise or scripting wise that could make my experience smoother. And also a small question regarding if I should bother cleaning the master files and use BethINI. I feel like as much as I browse google, reddit and Nexus I can't have a definitive answer to this.   4. When I do the skyhaven temple part of the main quest in the storyline, esbern and delphine just stand there and do nothing. The dialogue is glitched and when we get to alduins wall , they still are glitched out.I had to do unrelenting shout to push them both by the wall and its still the same dialogue. Not sure if its a bug to do with the mod or just the game in general.( i can post a video on what theyre exactly doing )

I started the Dragonborn questline I'm not sure if I got attacked by cultists or not but I followed the objectives up until the reach Temple of Miraak objective where after reaching the top of the Temple and touching the tree Stone I'm put into a black screen then i spawn in building part of one of the pillars with a hammer and chisel as normal at this point the NPC named Frea is supposed to spawn and talk to me and the other NPCs but she does not spawn and Miraak is just standing in a location in apocrypha it gives me the option to talk to him but doesn't let me talk to him I found him using teleportation mods I can't complete the Temple of Miraak objective thereby stopping the quest lines please I need help to fix this I tried to report the bug on the bug tracker but the open new issue options was not there and this is stopping my progress completely
  6. I had this problem this morning after completing some of the Black book quests. After finishing the "Black Book: The Sallow Regent" I kept taking damage after leaving. After doing some basic research I found this is a really old bug in Skyrim. I saw this UESP article that mentions the issue. It has some fixes mentioned but they did not work for me, so I continued digging and made a post on reddit about it. I was recommended to use xEdit to search for references of the spell that was causing it, I could not find it, I even used the Creation Kit to look for references. I could not find any to it, so I moved onto using more informative console. I used it to dig through all effects and spells on me, and I still found nothing about it through it. So then I moved onto trying RESAVER to clean the scripts up, and it still did nothing. I do run a heavily modded game, here is my mod list. If anyone else knows anything else about this please, let me know how to fix it. My last saved game was before I made a lot of progress. Please and thank you if anyone can help!
  7. Okay. I recently learned that thread necromancy is frowned upon. Please forgive me. That said. I have the problem of 'Skyrim Creation Kit' CTD after a few seconds of being at 'Initializing Archive.' -I have tried the 'Verify Integrity of Tool Files' through steam -I have tried to go through the Task manager to play with the compatibility (updated) (1) Windows 95 & 98 compatibility mode seams to cause it to take 10 seconds before it CTD Xp to windows 8 takes about 3-5 seconds before it CTDs. (2) Running it in 640x480 screen resolution causes it to CTD in 2 seconds. -I have tried two mods from nexus that were suppose to fix common problems. 1) Creation Kit Stability Performance Fixes by BoneTongue 2) Creation kit fixes by Darkwolfmodding -I have tried setting enableaudio= to 0 -I have tried editing the archive to load the masters suggested ' here ' on steam. I haven't deactivated all my mods to see if that is the reason yet. Should I? (update) Disabled all mods. Nothing. It is in the same folder as my skyrim launcher. Does it matter that that is on my HDD drive ' (D:\) ' ? I'm new to this whole modding thing and I don't know if I should have something additional. [07/15/2020] -Tried downloading via Bathesda Launcher and received an error message that 'Steam_api64.dll was not found' unistall\reinstall. Same error. -Zmerge In Vortex by Yggdrasil Modding pointed out a mod fix, but.... It is for the SE addition. Tried it anyways. CTD. [07/16/2020] -Adding 'Plugin list' from modwatch. [07/17/2020] -Tried copy pasting the SkyrimEditor.INI to a version that works on another computer. CTD after 10 seconds when it reaches 'Initalizing Archive.' -Tried making sure only Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x84 was installed. CTD -Reinstalled 2015-2019 knowing CK will CTD anyways. It did. -Tried following instructions on configuring CK provided by Neovalen posted [Here] CTD. -bEnableaudio= is set to 0 again. CTD.- -tried verifying integrity of tool files. 1 file failed. -uninstalled - reinstalled, run program. CTD. -Added the text back to Skrimeditor... CTD -unpacked and followed instructions correctly with the 'master fix'... CTD. Deleted it and Final in frustration. -Searching for more information. [7/22/2020] -uninstalled Skyrim & DLCs -deleted a folder of mods filled with redundancies that I had installed from another computer -reinstalled CK twice -made sure Skyrim's language was set to English (was already set to English) -Somehow, someway... It opens now. No CTDs on start up. Next step, I'm going to make a seperate folder for the .exe I will use to play Skyrim.
  8. Hello AFK forums, Would anyone please be willing to port over AndrealphusVIII's Dawnguard - Hall of Vigilant Requirement Mod to xbox? I would really like a mod to delay this DLC starting and we don't have any options. Give it to the PS4 players too. They would probably appreciate it. Author gives full permission to port it over.   9. so, I am pretty new to pc and modding. I am having a bit of a problem with loot for Fallout NV atm. Right now loot can not detect any of my activated mods through mod organizer 2. I have set all the directories to where they need to be, mo has detected loot and knows where the program is but the only plugins that are seen are the dlcs. i have not really found an answer to this problem anywhere. I have mods like Project Nevada and some graphics mods. The only other plugin loot detects other than the dlc content is an enb that i ofc manually downloaded. If i could get some help that would be much appreciated as i would love to get back to modding fallout nv but i would love it if loot would detect my mods.
  10. I'm working on a horse mod, part of it will be to make the second horse at each stable purchasable. I've finally gotten it to the point where the new dialogue line (where you choose your horse color) shows up and that the correct horse is purchased with each line. I now have two problems; One: when I purchase the default player horse first, then I can no longer purchase the newly available one, the game still reads it as if there are no more horses for sale. My second problem is that the line the horse merchants say when there is no more horses, doesn't appear. After asking to buy a horse they respond with the yes line and then the conversation cuts out, they are supposed to use the line where they say no more horses are available. The NPCs don't use any custom dialogue, I am copying the vanilla dialogue for everything except after the newly added horse choice, thy don't say anything there as it should direct straight to the accept line. I have also not yet pointed the dialogue for the duplicated lines yet. Horse Overhaul.7z

  12. I have been having trouble with mods and trying to get help when I can't figure the problems out. So of course I have heard of LOOT, but I don't understand what I'm doing with the program, so I'm trying to learn. LOOT was not showing all the plugins I have and I was trying to figure out how to make it. I use MO and read somewhere that I should open LOOT in MO. I figured out that hitting the sort button loads LOOT so I did that, then opened LOOT.exe to see if LOOT showed my plugins. When I opened LOOT I didn't see my plugins. Can someone please help me?
  13. Read: A quest is buged in Skyrim special edition called Destroying the dawnguard because Iran is essential, he can't be killed so completing the quest is impossible. You can't kill him even with cheat spells Please fix this Platform : Xbox one DlC: DawnGuard
  14. Hello, I am a PC user of Skyrim that has been using mods for quite some time. This however does not concern me directly. I have a friend who recently purchased the Special Edition on Xbox One to play with mods. The issue is with the Dark Brotherhood quest "Mourning Never Comes" wherein it tells hi mto talk to Muiri (for the second time) after she tells him to kill some people. It says she is in Markarth but the quest marker puts her far into the ocean past the mountains to the north on the map. He has walked around in Markarth for hours looking for her but it seems like the game genuinely dropped her in the ocean. He is using -USSEP -Relationship Dialogue Overhaul -Adventurer's Chest -Populated Forts/ Towers As I said I have been using mods for Skyrim and Bethesda in general and it seems like it couldn't be an issue with the mods he is using. I am reporting this with hopes that either you would be able to replicate and find a fix, or tell me a solution. Either way your mod said to report special edition bugs so here I am. Much thanks
  15. i have noticed a huge bug with no fix that i have found. after completing A new order the next quest no matter which side wont start up after isran or garan merethi will tell you to talk to someone but the next quest (prophet) wont actually start. I have tried this with mods, with no mods but the unofficial patch, and no mods at all. I have had a friend test it and it worked fine with him, it used to work when i used to play but it suddenly stopped. console commands with this quest DO NOT work at all setstage/ startquest nothing Fyi another thing the Hearthfire dlc is having another issue. none of the yarls that assign houses in the dlc will talk to me i have found a way around it but is " immersion breaking" by using player.relationshiprank "yarl id" 4 but i cannot become thane nor get a housecarl. i dont know what other details i can provide.
  16. Hello! The last 10 hours or so of playing I came across several quest bugs that were supposed to be fixed in USKP, the latest ones I remember being related to Maven Black-Briar and the Frost quest, Septimus Signus not dying as he should, and the Whiterun tree/sapling bug (although this one was reverted if I understand the changelog correctly?). I know that the patch is installed since weapons no longer drop separately from NPCs and the remove effect shrines exist and many text related bugs are properly fixed (20% Talos buff for example). I barely use any mods at all and I haven't uninstalled any mods either. Load Order Latest Version NMM was used for installing everything. LOOT for sorting but it's *really* overkill when I have so few mods. It's obviously on my end since the patches are clearly working great for thousands of people, I just can't figure it out... Thanks in advance for any help.
