SilentSpike 4 Posted February 26, 2013 I agree, the detail is great! How long did this take you? Link to comment
Lorelai 41 Posted February 27, 2013 Thank you! Hmm...I didn't count, but the whole process took about 5-6 hours, give or take. I still have to go into Mudbox to fix some seams. More incoming. Link to comment
alt3rn1ty 325 Posted April 14, 2013 Lorelai, you have Mudbox ? Now I am jealous Very nice work, it looks like a photo manip of a RL ring on a CG hand Link to comment
Lorelai 41 Posted May 15, 2013 Thank you! Yes, the Autodesk software comes with a non-commercial student licence, so I have Mudbox too, but the sculpts I do in Zbrush, wider range of brushes, far more control over the settings of the brushes, alphas. Then you have Dynamesh. However, I admit I prefer Mudbox for texturing because it doesn't vertex paint (as ZBrush does) so you can paint a really HighRes texture on the lowpoly, In Zbrush you have to divide the geometry. Heh, I actually had to tweak the hand mesh in PS after because I lazily just added a mesh smooth and didn't bother to quadify the mesh first. So I got all sorts of weird shadows on render. The ring texture is baked out of the ZBrush sculpt. I want to do more, maybe release them as resource, but I'm all out of design ideas. Link to comment
