This is a simple yet immersive and effective way to stop the Knight of the Nine content from beginning the second you start the game. The rumors and chapel attacks will be delayed now until you reach a fame level of 10. This is relatively easy to do with quests and guild duties. You will thus be allowed to see the various chapels in their unmolested states before the KOTN content kicks in. Once you reach the fame requirement, the script will silently begin the DLC and you'll start seeing the rumors as usual.
