Description
===========
The is a small tweak to the Eisen Platte Armor for HGEC by NPR, it offers different replacement options, including versions with pants, versions with a skirt (back-ported from NPR’s own Skyrim version of this armour) and versions with both, as well as the original versions, and versions of all of the above with the tassets (thigh armour) removed.
Details
=======
This little project was prompted by someone in the NifMania Discord Server saying that whilst the liked the Eisen Platte armour they found the exposed skin on the thighs off-putting. I’m generally inclined to agree given how bulky the rest of the set it, so I decided it was worth seeing what could be done abought that. The first thing I discovered was that the version of the armour published by NPR for Skyrim included a skirt, which I thought was a significant improvement. However, it’s a pretty short skirt and I wasn’t completely happy with the look, so I decided to model some pants starting from the existing leotard mesh. These pants are based on the look of the original armour from Final Fantasy XI, using a recoloured vanilla texture.
Having made two new versions for Oblivion I decided to combine pants and skirt to create a fourth version. Whilst doing all this I took a look at the weight painting on the model and decided it could do with “stiffening” for some of the metal parts, like the knees, ankles, shins etc. More tweaking ensued, mostly to reduce clipping and gapping around the thighs and waist. I wasn’t able to totally eliminate clipping between the tassets and skirt, so I’ve provided versions of my three modified armour plus the original with and without the tassets. You can pick which you like most.
As I was already up to the waist in it, so to speak, I decided to check our the upper body too. I made some small tweaks here too, shrinking the arm armour slightly and enlarging the pauldrons to again reduce clipping and gapping. I also moved the straps on the sides of the undershirt to the sides of the armour because I think it looks better like that.
All of this is a matter of taste rather than “improvement”. The end result is a slightly “chunkier” upper body with a slightly thicker midsection and larger pauldrons alongside smaller tassets and stiffer weight painting in some places. I personally prefer this look, as I think it’s a little more balanced, but it’s not a huge difference.

Known Issues or Bugs
====================
Sometimes when turning in place the tassets will clip through the skirt slightly, especially with weapons drawn. I’ve done my best to minimise this but I think fixing it completely would require welding the two parts together and remodelling them both, I don’t know how long that could take but it didn’t seem worth holding up the release at this point.
