The Coffee House is a comfortable inn along the road from Whiterun to Markarth/Rorikstead, just where the road from Falkreath runs into it near a dragon mound.  Run by the Khajiit, Ah'vrie (known as The Cat, to his friends), it provides a stopping off point to relax, warm up, and maybe get some sleep when travelling.  And, due to its central location, it also provides an excellent base of operations for the whole central part of Skyrim.
